Well, I hope you all enjoyed your presents and your holidays. We sure did . . .and we have more to follow. I tried to get a laptop secured to take with me on my trip out of town next week, but no go. So there will be no posting for a week.
So my daughter loved her presents. She keeps asking to finish her needlepoint kit, and loves taking her scissors out of the case and putting them back. I loved my presents, too – an industrial rock tumbler from my dad, all the cookware I asked for from my husband (I decided to make his life easy this year), and a foodsaver from my mom (who has always wanted to buy one, and figured I would actually use it enough to warrant owning it) – I just wish I had some time to play with them!
Maybe after we come home.
Here is an idea for you for next year. I didn’t want to post it when I finished them, because I wasn’t sure my DH didn’t read my blog, and I wanted them to be a surprise. I am sorry about the quality of the pic, we had just put out the last of the presents and my son was sleeping the sleep of a boy who knows he is getting something good from Santa, so I couldn’t turn on the light and risk waking him. Instead of hanging stockings this year, I made mittens. I just traced my hand onto a sheet of paper and cut a mitten shape way bigger than my hand, then used that as a pattern. I added a cuff and an “idiot string” (my mom’s words, not mine, I would just call it the little string thingy if she hadn’t firmly planted that in my head). Also, to distinguish them, I added initial charms to one of each pair and added another charm that describes the year for that person (a soccer ball for my new soccer star daughter, a baby shoe for my baby boy, a guitar for my husband who acquired a few new ones this year, and an artist’s palette for me).

Now I am off to finish some more things on my “To Do” List for the week . . .
