Getting as much done as my highly mobile toddler will let me. Since he started climbing the cabinetry, I only get to work on things while he’s asleep. Which is what I am doing now. I got an hour of weaving done a few days ago. I was very happy about it.

I also spent the weekend at my mom’s doing a mini-ARTCamp. We mostly just talked and laughed and had a good time not being Mommy and Grandma for a while. I stitched up a scarf for shibori – my first major dying project! Of course, since it was my first, I had to make it the most complicated, right? I have plans to stitch and dip it again with more spirals to make it look like “Starry Night”. Ish.

And then at the Study Group meeting last Sunday, we played around with sun-printing paints. VERY fun, because you do it and thn you have to wait for it to dry, so we could chat and gossip to our heart’s content without feeling like we weren’t getting something done.
Everyone loved the metal wall decorations I brought for making sun prints – they are essentially just like big metal stencils, perfect for this technique.
And no, I didn’t iron it before taking a picture. You’re lucky I took a picture with the list of things I have to do today . . .
Something else which is taking a big chunk out of my available time is that I have just become my daughter’s Girl Scout Troop Leader. There wil be lots of fun, to be sure, but getting the troop started is a lot of planning and organization and time. But there will also be cute kids crafts posted as I have them done, so stay tuned.

Very nice scarf – love the rich color you got and just enough design to lead you into the next step. The white will become whatever the next color you overdye it unless you protect it by … restitching, or paste resist, or wax resist?
Weaving looks good in the photo, too. Leaves need ironing as you mentioned.
